چکیده

We here describe the experience of researchers and artists involved in the activities of the “computer ART lab” (cART lab) of the Italian National Council of Research (C.N.R.) in Pisa, regarding the “wireless technology” developed for controlling in real-time interactive multimedia performances. The most relevant devices and systems developed at cART lab for gesture recognition to be used for giving expression to interactive multimedia performances are here reported. Also, a real-time powerful music language based on C language able to perform audio synthesis and processing is introduced.

A Study of the Integrated Automated Emotion Music with the Motion Gesture Synthesis via ZigBee Wireless Communication

Automated music composition and algorithmic composition are based on the logic operation with music parameters being set according to the desired music style or emotion. The computer generative music can be integrated with other domains using proper mapping techniques, such as the intermedia arts with music technology. This paper mainly discusses the possibility of integrating both automatic co...

A Wireless, Network-based Biosensor Interface for Music

We present a new hardware system using biosignals for musical applications. Architecture and design decisions made in its realization are described as well as initial experiments that have been conducted. The device is modular, wireless, and network based, permitting a wide range of applications. It is a reasonable cost, open platform for research in performance, musical gesture recognition, an...

Active and Non-Active Volumetric Information Spaces to Supplement Traditional Rehabilitation

The purpose of this paper is to inform on findings from a mature body of research titled SoundScapes. The goal was to define, create and question sensor-based ICT systems, techniques and methods to supplement traditional rehabilitation. Following initial biofeedback/sensorimotor tests, a non-invasive (non-wearable/ gesture-based) motion-sensitive sensor system enabling human performance control...

Hyper-shaku (Border-crossing): Towards the Multi-modal Gesture-controlled Hyper-Instrument

Hyper-shaku (Border-Crossing) is an interactive sensor environment that uses motion sensors to trigger immediate responses and generative processes augmenting the Japanese bamboo shakuhachi in both the auditory and visual domain. The latter differentiates this process from many hyper-instruments by building a performance of visual design as well as electronic music on top of the acoustic perfor...
